LUPE
Lupe has been at Cat Welfare since July 1999. She is one of the sweetest cats at the shelter. She likes to have a lot of attention and likes to put herself between the shelter workers and the cages they are cleaning. By doing so, she hopes that they'll be forced to then pick her up and give her attention. She is very loving and a good kind of needy. She may have had, at one time, a stroke or some kind of nerve damage that caused her to appear to be a little "slow". When you walk in the room and just mention her name, she follows you around and will not let you be. Her sweetness has resulted in many people wanting to adopt her. She was adopted twice and both times she was returned for not using the litter pan. She also tends to be susceptible to mild cases of upper respiratory every now and then. Lupe is very sweet and innocent. She loves being around the staff and considers the staff her family.
UPDATE: Wednesday, October 3, 2007 - Lupe's health had become very fragile in recent days and the staff decided the best thing to do was to have her put to sleep this morning at the shelter. Lupe was the favorite kitty of Therese, the shelter vet, and it was Therese that was with Lupe in her final moments. I will always remember Lupe's beautiful face and the way she would look up at me when I would talk to her. I will also always remember how she would make me laugh and smile when she would scratch her claws on my shoes and eventually end up getting stuck to them. One of Lupe's favorite staff members will be taking Lupe's ashes home with her. Thanks to everyone that cared about Lupe and we will miss our special little girl.
