MONTGOMERY

01-10-2007

Sadly, Montgomery passed away on Monday, January 8, 2007 and she will be missed by many. We all feel lucky to have been part of her life and happiness.

Montgomery really had no specific cause of death other than just old age. On Sunday she was weaker than usual. She was given fluids and was being monitored. She received a lot of love and petting from some of our volunteers and staff. She passed a blood clot in with her stools on Sunday. On Monday she was having difficulty standing and the staff decided it was time to let her go. Her best buddy Gail was there to say her goodbyes and to give her some special TLC. By the time the staff arrived at the vet Mongtomery was almost gone. We all think it was just her time and that she was ready to go. She has been cremated and her ashes are now at the home of her best friends, Gail, Blake, and Jonathan.

Montgomery's original story remains below.

Montgomery came to Cat Welfare in March 1991. She came to us when she was just 5 weeks old. She has been adopted several times but each time was returned because she would not use the litter pan consistently. She says she'd rather live at the shelter anyway and that she purposefully did not use the litter pan all the time so she could come back to us. She got her wish to live with us permanently in 2000. She has a cute habit of always having her tongue sticking out a little bit. If she wants to, she can make herself the most asked about cat in the shelter by drawing a lot of attention to herself. Montgomery seems to have quite a large fan club of men! They always seem to fall prey to her charms. However, she also loves the ladies, too. We're glad that we could fulfill her wish in having a forever home at our shelter.
